I didn’t begin my career planning to work in sports nutrition. I was on track to become an athletic trainer with the goal of working in the NFL, focused on preventing and treating injuries. But during my freshman year of college, something felt off. I realized I didn’t fully understand why athletes who trained correctly were still breaking down. A mentor introduced me to sports nutrition, and that moment changed everything. I discovered that training and physiology explain how the body works—but nutrition determines whether the body can perform, recover, and adapt. As I worked with athletes, I kept seeing the same pattern: athletes doing everything right—training hard, following their programs—yet still getting injured, fatigued, sick, or underperforming when it mattered most. They were told to “eat more” or “watch what they eat,” but nothing changed. That’s when I uncovered a critical truth: most performance breakdowns are not caused by training—they are caused by misfueling. When fueling doesn’t match the demands of training, growth, and competition, the body cannot keep up. The result is fatigue, injury, illness, poor recovery, and lost performance at the worst possible time. So I built a system to solve it. Today, I use my athlete fueling system to identify and fix misfueling before it turns into injury, burnout, or lost opportunity—so athletes stay healthy, recover properly, and perform at their highest level when it matters most.
